- People who want profiles checked by a person before they appear: Manual review of profiles, photos, texts

What is free and what costs
HappyPancake is free across the board: 100% free, no membership fee The plan structure is One free tier, no paid plans, so the free model covers the whole service rather than a reduced version of it. For readers who weigh price and billing first, that is the cleanest position on the comparison page: there is no subscription to start and no renewal to remember. Where other options stop at a free signup and place contact behind a paid tier, HappyPancake keeps messaging in the same free tier as browsing, so a conversation costs nothing to begin or to continue.
Using the service
The audience focus is Singles dating, serious real meetings, so the site is set up for singles dating and real meetings rather than passing chat. That focus shapes a short routine: complete a profile, browse within the same national pool, and start conversations with people who joined for the same reason. The member base is Over 800,000 members in Sweden, which gives you plenty of profiles to work through inside a single country market, and because the pool is local, distance matters less than it would on a service spread across many countries. Expect a steady stream of profiles in a single language and local context, which suits anyone who would rather read the same kind of profile all evening.
Members and plans
HappyPancake lists Over 800,000 members in Sweden, and the audience focus is Singles dating, serious real meetings. A large local base with a stated intention of meeting in person is a steadier pool than a passing crowd, and the size means casual browsing still turns up new profiles. Plans are One free tier, no paid plans, so membership and free access describe the same thing: everyone gets the full service at no cost. There is no tier ladder to climb and nothing that unlocks after payment, so the cost of using the service stays at nothing from your opening message onwards.
The company behind it
The operator is HappyPancake Nordic, based in Sweden, and the business dates back to 2007. That is a long trading record rather than a recent launch, which matters for readers weighing privacy and accountability: there is a named company behind the profiles and a stated home country to look at. Support runs on help centre, so help is self served through written material instead of a live conversation. Anyone who prefers to phone or chat with a person will find that route outside the channels listed.

Frequently asked questions
Is HappyPancake free to use?+
Yes. The service is described as 100% free, no membership fee, and the plan structure is One free tier, no paid plans, so membership costs nothing at all and nothing bills later. For readers who decide on price first, that removes the usual weighing of a subscription against a feature list.
How many members does HappyPancake have?+
The stated member base is Over 800,000 members in Sweden. That is a large pool inside a single country market, which is what you want from a site aimed at casual dating: enough people to browse, with everyone in the same local context.
What kind of people is HappyPancake for?+
The audience focus is Singles dating, serious real meetings, and the listed niche is casual. The site is set up for singles dating rather than a specific interest group, so anyone comfortable in a broad local pool will find it easier to use than a narrow community.
Does HappyPancake check the profiles it shows?+
Verification is Manual review of profiles, photos, texts, so a person looks at what you submit before it goes live. That does slow a new profile down, but it also means photos and texts have been read before other members see them.
How do I get help from HappyPancake?+
Support runs on help centre, so help is self served through written material. If you prefer to talk to someone, that route is not among the channels listed, and it is worth weighing before you sign up.
Which country does HappyPancake operate in?+
The operator is HappyPancake Nordic, based in Sweden, and the member base is Over 800,000 members in Sweden. The service is built for a single national market, so it is aimed at people living in that country rather than a multi country audience.
Who runs HappyPancake and how long has it been going?+
The legal entity is HappyPancake Nordic and the business dates back to 2007. A named company with a long trading record gives readers something concrete to weigh on accountability, and the stated home country in SE gives privacy readers a place to start.
Is there a paid tier to upgrade to on HappyPancake?+
Not beyond what already exists. Plans are One free tier, no paid plans, so the free tier covers the service. Readers who expect extra filters, a highlighted profile or a longer message allowance for their money will find the upgrade path closed.
