Our verdict
Translr suits adults who want a focused trans and crossdresser crowd instead of a general pool, and the free download keeps entry low. Monthly fees start at $14.99, with VIP membership and in-app coin packs as the paid layers, so set a budget before you sign up.

Pros and cons
Pros
- Profile and video verification, which filters out the most obvious fakes before you spend an evening scrolling.
- A free download with VIP as the paid layer, so you can judge the audience before you pay anything.
- A narrow audience of trans people, crossdressers and admirers, which cuts the amount of scrolling.
- Scale and store feedback: 1,000,000+ registered users, rated App Store (US) 4.6/5 from 10,479 ratings on the US App Store.
Cons
- The cancellation terms read Auto-renews until cancelled; no refunds, so a forgotten membership keeps billing until you switch it off yourself.
- Support runs on email only, so a billing dispute waits for a written reply.
- Coin packs are sold in-app outside the membership, so spending can creep up after you have already paid.
Who it suits
- Adults looking for trans people, crossdressers and admirers rather than a broad general pool.
- Readers who want to install free, size up the crowd and only then decide whether VIP is worth it.
- Phone-first users, since app is the listed format for the service.
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone on a very tight budget: Findom.com lists monthly fees from $0.09.
- Readers who want a kink and BDSM focus instead of a trans one: BDSM-baari runs fees of €0.83 to €2.50.
- People after a senior dating pool: Senior.dk Dating lists monthly fees from DKK 2.30.
Privacy, billing and cancelling
A privacy policy is published on the site, and the cancellation terms are Auto-renews until cancelled; no refunds. Read both before you pay: cancelling stops future charges, while a cycle already taken is not refunded, so a membership you forget about bills until you turn it off.
Who runs it
Translr is run by Translr Limited, registered in Hong Kong, and it was founded in 2022. That makes it a young company next to long running dating services, so expect less history to judge it by. Support runs on email only, so ask in writing and keep your receipts.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Translr cost a month?+
The app downloads free, and the paid part is VIP membership. Monthly fees start at $14.99. Subscriptions are sold as VIP 1, 3 and 6 month subscriptions, and coin packs are sold in-app, so spending can sit on top of a membership.
What is free on Translr?+
The download is free and the service is listed as a free model, so you can install it and look around without a membership. VIP membership is the paid layer, and coin packs are a separate in-app purchase. The free part is the shop window for judging the crowd.
Who is Translr aimed at?+
The audience is Trans people, crossdressers and admirers, and the recorded interests are lgbtq and trans. In short, it serves trans daters and the people who want to meet them rather than a general pool. 1,000,000+ registered users have already registered.
Does Translr check that profiles are genuine?+
Verification covers both profiles and video, so Profile and video verification adds a check that a photo alone does not give. Treat it as a useful filter for obvious fakes rather than a promise about anyone's real intentions off the app.
Is there an app, and how is it rated?+
Translr runs as an app, listed under app, so mobile is the way in. It rates App Store (US) 4.6/5 from 10,479 ratings on the US App Store. Plan your access around a phone rather than a desktop browser.
How do I cancel, and can I get a refund?+
Subscriptions run on auto-renewal, and the terms are Auto-renews until cancelled; no refunds. Cancel in the app store where you subscribed, and do it before the next renewal date if you do not want another charge. The terms give no refunds, so a charge already taken stays with the company.
How do I get help?+
Support runs on email only, so expect a written reply and keep copies of your receipts. No phone line or live chat is listed among the support channels, which is worth knowing before you dispute a charge. Put billing questions in writing so you have a record.
